      The short version: SyncShot does not collect, store, or transmit your video footage.
      All recordings stay on your device. We collect no personal information.
    

What SyncShot Does

SyncShot is a multi-device synchronized recording tool. It lets groups of people record video simultaneously across multiple devices using a shared session code, with a flash cue to mark a common sync point for video editing.

Video and Camera Data

Your footage never leaves your device. SyncShot records video locally using your device's camera and saves it to your camera roll. No video, audio, or image data is ever uploaded to our servers or any third party.

What Our Server Receives

SyncShot's server only handles real-time session coordination. The following minimal data is transmitted over an encrypted WebSocket connection:

A randomly generated device ID stored only on your device
A device name you choose (e.g. "Main Camera") — visible to others in the session
A session code used to group devices together
Timing signals (start recording, stop recording, flash timestamp)

Sessions are held in memory only and are automatically deleted after 6 hours or when all devices leave. We do not write session data to any database or log file.

Permissions

SyncShot requests the following device permissions:

Camera — to record your video angle
Microphone — to record audio with your video
Photo Library / Media — to save the recorded clip to your camera roll

These permissions are used solely for local recording. No captured media is transmitted externally.

Analytics and Tracking

SyncShot contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no crash reporting services, and no tracking of any kind. We do not use cookies. We do not build user profiles.

Data Retention

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to retain or delete. Your device ID is stored locally in your device's app storage and can be cleared by uninstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

SyncShot does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Because we collect no personal data from any user, the app is safe for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
